Vision

A child’s secure attachment to at least one caregiver is the foundation of healthy human development. For this reason, the importance of attachment should be understood and seen as an integral part of being human.
Mission
This multi-organizational network actively develops and supports best practices for enhancing secure attachment across the life span.
Its activities include:
- education,
- dissemination of information,
- networking, and
- advocacy.

The Steering Committee was renamed to the Board of Directors. The need to adopt a more formal structure was identified at our strategic planning day in June 2007. We also incorporated the Network. The Board has worked to establish our terms of reference. Prompted by interest in our Network by practitioners in other provinces, we are now the Attachment Network of Manitoba, with the view in mind of possibly forming partnerships at the national level in the future.

Education, Training and Research
This committee was struck to address the need to create made in Manitoba research about the innovative, exciting work that is happening here in our communities.
Toddler Programming
This group was struck to explore the possibility of creating a resource for parents of toddlers similar to the DVD "Listening to Baby".
Legal Matters
This committee was struck to raise awareness of attachment issues with judges, lawyers and those who work with families where there are custody or child welfare matters that need to go before a court.
